A culturally appropriate Intervention Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
Commencement: The program begins when a child or young person is on a 28-day Court Assessment Order.
Age Group: 12 - 18 years
Duration: The program runs for 18 weeks with 16-weeks placement support and a 2 week on country program facilitated in various communities across Queensland.
Program Overview:
The Yalga Cultural Placement Support program addresses the diverse personal, developmental and cultural needs by utilising high quality facilitation by highly experienced and skilled team of cultural practitioners. The flexible and responsive program is delivered working in partnership with key stakeholders and in collaboration with community cultural facilitators and elders to address the needs of the individual Young People.

Child-focused, culturally responsive, engaging activities and interventions that improve the health and wellbeing of children and communities.
Program Outcomes:
Promotes wellbeing,resilience, and empowerment to express and develop on their hopes and dreams.
Ongoing support to partnering and statutoryagencies to build cultural capacity around developing a deeper understanding.
